About The ISTD

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is one of the world’s leading dance examination boards with headquarters based in London, UK. The ISTD’s mission is to educate the public in the art of dancing in all its forms, to promote knowledge of dance, to provide up-to-date techniques for members, and to maintain and improve teaching standards.
The ISTD Modern Dance method is taught by Dansation studio owner, teacher and pro level dancer, Miss Lauren Matthews. Our modern dance syllabus aims to cultivate versatile dancers using techniques derived from Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary Dance. There’s something for everyone in the Modern syllabus!

With over 30 years dance teaching experience, she has obtained her ISTD Fellowship; the highest and most respected teaching qualification within the ISTD.
